Cucumis melo. 90 days. Open-pollinated.
Banana Melon is an old heirloom variety that first appeared in J.H. Gregory's seed catalog in 1885, where he said of this melon "When ripe it reminds one of a large, overgrown banana... it smells like one, having a remarkably powerful and delicious fragrance."
The yellow skinned, banana shaped melons grow up to 24 inches in length and weight up to 8 pounds each.
Deliciously fragrant flesh is salmon-orange with a sweet and spicy flavor.
