Crenshaw Melon is an heirloom variety first introduced to American gardeners in 1929.


Vigorous vines produce yellow-green, pear-shaped fruits that weight around 5 to 10 pounds.


Salmon-colored flesh is creamy, sweet, and aromatic, and considered among the finest of all melon varieties.

  • Growing Tips

    Start indoors 2 to 4 weeks before transplanting. Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep in individual peat pots and keep the soil around 75ºF until germination, which should occur in 7 to 14 days. Transplant outdoors once the soil temperature has warmed to around 70 or 80ºF.
