Cucurbita pepo. 60 days. Open-pollinated.
Gelber Englischer is a summer squash variety originally from Gatersleben, Germany.
Productive, bushy vines produce copious amounts of small, lemon-yellow, patty pan fruits that weigh less than 1 pound. Their unique, flattened tops are said to look like a muffin that has spilled over the top of the pan! Flesh is tender and buttery and can be used in all your favorite summer squash dishes.
Does very well in cooler climates such as the Pacific Northwest.
