Naga Jolokia. 120 days. Open-pollinated.
Ghost peppers, also known as Bhut Jolokia or Naga Jolokia, originated in the Assam region of India.
The teardrop shaped fruits start bright green and ripen to a deep orange, and are between 2 to 3 inches in length and about 1/2 inch in width. The flesh is shiny and slightly wrinkled, while the seeds within are a flat white.
At more than 1 million Scoville units, the Ghost pepper is one of the spiciest chili peppers in the world.
The heat contained within the pepper’s flesh and seeds does not diminish with cooking, and they are commonly used to add an intense spiciness to sauces, marinades, salsas, and more!
