75 days. Indeterminate. Open-pollinated.
Green Zebra is an open-pollinated tomato variety developed by Tom Wagner of Everett, Washington in the early 1980s.
Compact, productive vines yield distinctive green and yellow striped fruits that are simultaneously sweet and tangy, making them a favorite of professional and home chefs alike for both their striking beauty and bold flavor.
The yellow stripes on the bottom of the fruits will begin to show a blush of color when ready for harvest, and the flesh will be firm with a slight give.
If you prefer tart tomatoes, pick the Green Zebra sooner. For a sweeter tomato, leave it to ripen a bit longer on the vine. Take care not to leave it too long, though, as the fruit can get mealy when overripe.

Start tomatoes indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last spring frost, sowing the seeds 1/4 inch deep in a seed flat or cell tray. Use a heat mat to keep the soil temperature between 70-75°F and a humidity dome to ensure the soil stays moist between watering. Germination should occur within 6 to 8 days.
Transplant the seedlings into individual pots once they have grown their second set of leaves, and be sure to bury the stems up to the lower set of leaves to promote strong root growth.
When the outside soil temperature has reached a minimum of 70°F, plant the seedlings at least 2 feet apart in a location with full sun and very rich soil. Water frequently, and be sure to protect the plants if temperatures drop below 55°F.
