Cucurbita maxima. 100 days. Open-pollinated.
Guatemalan Blue is a rare heirloom squash variety from South America, where it was once an important source of sustenance for the Mayan people.
Vigorous vines produce elongated fruits that weight up to 8 pounds and are dusty blue in color with light stripes. The firm orange flesh is deliciously sweet with a slightly fruity flavor, making this squash a great choice for baking, roasting, frying, and pureeing for soups and pies. It's also an excellent winter keeper!
