Plants grow to about 6 feet in height and produce between 14 to 16 leaves, though given rich soil it can often produce up to 18 leaves. Cures to a light brown color with a flavor that is rich and spicy with hints of chocolate, coffee, and black pepper.

Direct sow in spring by gently pressing the seeds into soil's surface. Keep soil lightly moist until germination, which typically occurs within 14 to 21 days.
To start indoors, plant seeds 6 to 8 weeks before the last spring frost. Use cell trays or seeds flats and be sure to sow the seeds on the soil's surface. Provide light and keep soil moist until germination, taking care not to disturb the seeds when watering. Transplant outdoors once the danger of frost has passed.
