Nicotiana persica. 85 days.
Jasmine is a tall, broad-leaved, ornamental tobacco that is widely adapted and weather tolerant.
Plants grow to a height 3 to 4 feet and produce white, star-shaped flowers that open in the early evening and fill the air with a sultry, jasmine perfume.
A seed catalog printed in 1889 recommends planting Jasmine tobacco in the center of a bed of evening flowers, strategically sited under the parlor window. Another recommends cutting them for bouquets to display at the center of the dinner table.
10 to 12 weeks from seed to bloom. Does best when grown in full sunlight, but can tolerate partial shade. Easily self-sows.

Hardiness Zones: 9 to 12 Light Requirement: Full sun Soil Type: Average, well drained Sow Depth: Surface Plant Spacing: 36 to 60 inches Germination Temp: 70ºF to 80ºF Germination Time: 14 to 21 days Maturation: 85 days Growing Tips
Direct sow in spring by gently pressing the seeds into soil's surface. Keep soil lightly moist until germination, which typically occurs within 14 to 21 days.
To start indoors, plant seeds 6 to 8 weeks before the last spring frost. Use cell trays or seeds flats and be sure to sow the seeds on the soil's surface. Provide light and keep soil moist until germination, taking care not to disturb the seeds when watering. Transplant outdoors once the danger of frost has passed.
