Cucurbita maxima. 100 days. Open-pollinated.
Turks Turban, also called Mexican Hat, is an open-pollinated squash variety that has been in cultivation since before the 1820s.
Highly productive vines produce turban-shaped fruits that grow up to 12 inches in diameter and an average weight of 5 pounds. Distinctive, bright orange skin streaked with greens, reds, and whites make for a stunning addition to fall displays.
The fruit's thick flesh is mildly sweet and excellent for baking or stuffing.
