Cucumis melo chito. 80 days. Open-pollinated.
Vine Peach, also known as Mango Melon, is an heirloom melon variety first introduced to the United States in the 1880s where it became a popular fruit for making pies, preserves, and sweet pickles.
Vigorous spreading vines produce peach-sized fruits with yellow-orange rinds and white, slightly fruity yet bland tasting flesh that has a texture similar to a mango.
While still best when used for pies and preserves, you might also try slicing the melon and frying it like eggplant!
